A safety relief valve controls the water pressure that comes into the home. It provides safety protection in the system. When the system’s pressure exceeds the set value, the safety valve is opened to relieve the pressure, so that the system pressure can be controlled under a safety rnge. The high water pressure may cause many plumbing problems like leakages, pipe bursting etc, so keeping the water pressure under a safe lever is very important and necessary.
Once the set pressure is reached, the pressure overcomes the spring pressure and pushes the diaphragm back opening the orifice and releasing the excess pressure. Depending on the media, it is either discharged to the atmosphere (i.e. compressed air) or back to a tank or pumping circuit (hydraulics).
Safety relief valve is mainly used in heating, air conditioning, heat storage hot water system, irrigation system, control of cold and heat sources and system pressure.
1. The safety valve can be installed horizontally or vertically, but it cannot be installed upside down. That means the ABS cap cannot be at the bottom.
2. The pressure relief port should be connected with a drain pipe for drainage. The floor drain must be installed vertically below the discharge pipe of the safety valve, and the water outlet must be downward. Use a hard drain pipe (to prevent the water pipe from moving by connecting with the hose under the high-pressure relief), and the size should be consistent with the diameter of the water outlet.
3. Rotate the red cap to relieve the pressure manually.
4. The safety valve combines the expansion tank and the automatic water supply valve to form a complete set of small constant-pressure water replenishment expansion systems, which has the function of automatic water replenishment when the system pressure is low, absorbing the expansion when the pressure is high, and automatically relieving the pressure when overpressure.
